In No One Can Make You Feel, a transformative episode of Be Transformed: New Life Awaits, we hear how many of us live as if our peace depends on others. We say things like, “They made me so angry,” or “She ruined my day,” without realizing that we’re giving away control of our emotional well-being. But Romans 8 tells us that we are not controlled by the flesh—or by other people’s actions. We are led by the Spirit of Life.
The Spirit of Life empowers us to take responsibility for our responses. When someone “presses our buttons,” it’s not just about what they did—it’s about what’s already in our hearts. These moments reveal unresolved pain, unmet needs, or false beliefs that still have influence. Instead of blaming others, we can ask, “Why did that affect me so deeply?” That question, asked in humility and with the Spirit’s guidance, becomes a doorway to healing.
This is the path to freedom. When we live by the Spirit, we stop giving others the power to dictate our emotions. We begin to live from a place of peace, worth, and identity rooted in Christ—not in how others treat us, but in how God sees us. We are no longer tossed around by every offense or misunderstanding. We become anchored in truth.
Emotional maturity in the Spirit doesn’t mean we stop feeling. It means we stop reacting from wounded places. It means we pause, invite the Spirit in, and respond from a heart that is being transformed. This is how we move from being emotionally reactive to spiritually responsive.
And the result? Peace. Not circumstantial peace, but soul-deep peace that comes from knowing who we are, whose we are, and who is truly in control.
Listen to No One Can Make You Feel and ask the Spirit to show you where you’ve given away your peace.
