Why Peace Slips Away—and How You Can Reclaim It Today
When peace leaks, behavior fixes won’t hold. We can string together better days, but if the heart still entertains old alliances—unforgiveness, self‑protection, secret dependencies—peace evaporates under pressure. Jesus offers more than symptom relief; He offers a new heart that can carry His peace into real life. These insights reflect the transformation path outlined in Be Transformed: New Life Awaits, which emphasizes that exterior change without heart change won’t last.
Three common “peace leaks” to close:
Unforgiveness. Withholding mercy keeps the door cracked to torment and robs authority to resist temptation. Confess, forgive from the heart, and ask the Lord to remove bitterness at the root.
Hidden alliances. Any trusted substitute for God—control, anger for motivation, numbing behaviors—divides our devotion and weakens our spiritual house. Renounce and repent of these alliances and ask God to be your sole source.
Knowing without doing. Scripture memorization and activity are vital, but obedience is what reshapes the heart into Christ’s likeness and makes peace durable.
A simple prayer to start:
“Father, I renounce every alliance that competes with You. I forgive as You forgave me. Make my heart like Jesus’—whole, obedient, and at peace.”
