Imagine the excitement of buying a new car—the joy, the pride, the eagerness to share. That’s how God wants us to feel about Him. Scripture says:
“Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments.” (Psalm 112:1)
Delighting in God means loving Him with enthusiasm, not obligation. It’s not about checking boxes or following rules—it’s about being thrilled by His presence and eager to know Him more. When your heart delights in God, idols lose their grip. Joy in Him fuels obedience and transforms your life from the inside out.
Why does delight matter? Because we are led by what we love. If we love the world, we chase its empty promises. But if we love God, we pursue His truth and experience peace that surpasses understanding. Loving Him above all else empowers us to resist temptation and make decisions that honor Him.
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly…but his delight is in the law of the Lord.” (Psalm 1:1-2)
Take time to cultivate delight in God. Worship Him with joy. Speak of His goodness with excitement. Make space in your day to enjoy His presence. When you love God more than anything else, your life becomes a testimony of His transforming power.
