Peace and joy are two things everyone longs for, yet so many struggle to find them. Why? Because we often look for them in the wrong places—relationships, success, possessions, or even good things that were never meant to take God’s place in our hearts.
Jesus made it clear:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37)
When God is first, everything else falls into alignment. But when idols—those things we love more than Him—take center stage, life becomes chaotic. Idols promise happiness but deliver emptiness. They demand our attention, yet leave us restless and unsatisfied.
Loving God above all else changes everything. It brings clarity to decisions, peace in uncertainty, and joy that circumstances cannot shake. This isn’t about religious performance—it’s about relationship. God wants your heart, not your checklist. When you delight in Him, you experience freedom from the bondage of misplaced loves.
Ask yourself:
What do I turn to for comfort?
What consumes my thoughts?
What would devastate me if I lost it?
If the answer isn’t God, it’s time to realign your heart. Begin with prayer: “Lord, I choose You above all else.” Then take practical steps—spend time in His Word, worship with joy, and invite Him into every decision.
When you love God first, peace and joy become more than words—they become your reality.
