Key Concept for Today
We must trust God to have our divine needs met. We cannot trust God if we blame Him and have anger towards Him for our suffering.
Verse of the Day
“Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by [what is] evil and He Himself tempts no one.”
— James 1:13
In the Be Transformed Workbook it says: Anger at God cannot coexist with trust. When hardship hits or prayers seem unanswered, the enemy whispers lies about God’s heart. The result? Distance replaces trust. Scripture corrects the lie: God does not tempt or author evil (James 1:13–14). Jesus clarified tragedies aren’t divine punishments (Luke 13:4).
Try the Prayer to Release Resentment Toward God and watch fear and agitation lose their grip as truth reorders your heart.
Heavenly Father, forgive me for the ways I have held You responsible for my suffering and disappointments. Forgive me for how angry I have gotten at You for something You didn’t do for me. Forgive me for attributing to You the evil I have had to endure in my life. Forgive me for asking You to bless my will and decisions instead of asking for Your will to be done.
Father, I humbly ask you to help me feel Your presence and the assurance that comes from trusting you.
I pray this in the precious name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.
